INVITATION

The 2nd International Conference on Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety (SECOTOX '2003) will be held on October 17-22, 2003 on a ship from Yichang to Chongqing, China. The symposium follows the tradition set by the previous meeting held in Wuhan, China(1998). This conference will focus on recent development and novel aspects of ecotoxicology and environmental safety to the Asia-Pacific region, where rapid development in economics, sciences and technologies is taking place. Participants from other continents are also warmly welcomed. You are kindly invited to submit papers and posters related to the scope of the conference. SCOPE OF THE CONFERENCE

Contributions from all branches of ecotoxicology and environmental safety are welcomed. Papers concerning fundamental and/or applied studies in the following areas are particularly preferred:

• Ecotoxicology

• Pollution monitoring

• Transport and fate of chemicals

• Clean production and treatment technologies

• Special session for POPs control and management

• Endocrine disruptors

• Bioavailability and impact

• Risk assessment

• Environmental medicine

ABSTRACT GUIDELINES

The main objective of the congress is to discuss innovative and current topics in ecotoxicology and environment. The extended abstract should represent the actual paper/poster that will be presented at the conference. Abstracts should be typed or printed in 3 to 4 pages of A4 size paper, including figures, graphs, tables, and important references. Please send your abstract by airmail or E-mail no later than July 15, 2003. The address for receipt of abstracts is shown below.

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM

The 5-day programme will include plenary and keynote lectures and oral presentations in parallel sessions and displayed posters. The work language of the conference is English.
